Product Details
The EASY-STEP trapdoor is 26 millimetres thick and is fully insulated and draft sealed for minimal heat loss and no draft. The trapdoor is constructed using a “sandwich” method, where polystyrene insulation is filled in or “sandwiched” between two outer layers. Austrian pine provides the structural frame of the door, there is a rebated slot taken out of the edge of the pine frame where a rubber seal sits to provide the airtightness and draft prevention. A metal d-handrail is attached to the top third of the ladder section, providing something to hold onto while climbing up and down the ladder. There are protective rubber feet on the bottom of the ladder, providing protection to floor surfaces which are vulnerable to scratches i.e. wooden floors. The hatch door is spring loaded, meaning you do not have to take any weight while opening it and it does not just simply fall down when you open the latch with the supplied pole.
All of the timber used in the construction of this product is FSC environmentally rated, meaning that the wood has only been taken from responsible sources. We want to be kind to the environment, and we know you do too!
